比丘，其他教派的流浪者可能会问你：’朋友，有这三件事。那三？贪婪的欲望，仇恨和妄想。朋友，这三样事物，他们之间的区别是什么？

欲望该受责备，但欲望会消失，仇恨是非常应受谴责的，但很快就会消失; 妄想是非常应受谴责的，而且慢慢逐渐消失。
是什么原因引起了不该有的欲望，并且出现了增加和扩张的渴望？这是由于有吸引力的对象。对于那些不经意地对待一个有吸引力的物体的人来说，出现了无法形容的欲望，并且出现了欲望的增加和扩张。朋友们，这就是出现欲望的欲望，并且出现了欲望的增加和扩展。
出现讨仇恨的原因是什么，仇恨增加和扩大的原因是什么？这是由于一个令人厌恶的对象。对于那些不经意地厌恶一个物体的人来说，出现了无知的仇恨，并且仇恨的增加和扩大。

“Bhikkhus, wanderers of other sects may ask you : ‘Friends, there are these three things. White three? Greed, hatred, and delusion. These are the three. What,friends is the distinction, the disparity, the difference between them?

Lust is slightly blameworthy but slow in to fade, hatred is very blameworthy but quick to fade away; delusion is very blameworthy and slow to fade away.

What is the reason unarisen lust arises and arisen lust in increases and expands ? It is due to an attractive object. For one who attends carelessly to an attractive object, unarisen lust arises and arisen lust increases and expands. This, friends, is the reason unarisen lust arises and arisen lust increases and expands.

What is the reason unarisen hatred arises and arisen hatred increases and expands ? It is due to a repulsive object. For who attends carelessly to a repulsive object, unarisen hatred arises and arisen hatred increases and expands.

What is the reason unarisen delusion arises and arisen delusion increases and arisen delusion increases and expands. It is due to careless attention. For one who attends carelessly, unarisen delusion arises and arisen delusion increases and expands.

What is the reason unarisen lust does not arise and arisen lust is abandoned? For who attends carefully to an unattractive object, unarisen lust does not arise and arisen lust is abandoned.

What is the reason unarisen hatred does not arise and hatred is abandoned? The liberation of the mind by loving-kindness. For the one who attends carefully to the liberation of loving-kindness, unarisen hatred does not arise and arisen hatred is abandoned.

What is the reason unarisen delusion does not arise and arisen delusion is abandoned? Careful attention. For one who attends carefully, unarisen delusion does not arise and arisen delusion is abandoned.
